Christie Clinic's department of Chemotherapy Ancillary is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician (Sign-On Bonus Available) from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at the University clinic, with no night or weekend requirements.
Duties include assisting in the provision of chemotherapy services including the compounding of chemotherapy and other drugs, ordering and distributing pharmaceuticals, computer billing, and other office work.
An Illinois Registered Pharmacy Technician License is required upon hire, and a Pharmacy Technician Certification is required within 2 years of initial Pharmacy Technician registration. IV preparation experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications and ExpectationsJOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Compounds chemotherapy and other compounded medications in a cleanroom environment according to USP 797 and USP 800 standards in a timely and accurate fashion
- Check all prescribed compounds for completeness of information. Verify patient information and proper provider authorization.
- Accurately perform mathematical calculations for dose
- Package and deliver solutions and controlled drugs, as directed in protocol.
- Assist with inventory control of medications. Help order supplies and medications.  Receive and stock medications.
- Regularly perform cleaning tasks within the cleanroom suite consistent with USP 800 standards
- Maintain professional working relationships with co-workers, nurses and providers
- Perform related work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient Communication Skills
- Proficient Math Skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Illinois Registered Pharmacy Technician License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- IV compounding experience
- Pharmacy Technician Certification  (If not certified, must obtain within 2 years of initial Pharmacy Technician Registration)
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 35 pounds. Must be able to walk and stand for extended amounts of time.  Other demands include the ability to read and note appropriate measurements.  Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting, wearing protective equipment and using closed system transfer devices while working with hazardous and non-hazardous medications.  Requirements may include working irregular hours on occasion to meet departmental staffing needs.

The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
