8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. Every 4th Saturday 8:30am-12:00pm
The Pharmacy Technician assists in the technical functions of the practice of pharmacy, enabling the pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care to the patient. An integral part of the pharmacy team, the technician transcribes prescriptions to the pharmacy dispensing system, bills insurance, packages, and labels medications, assists with inventory control, and provides exceptional customer service to our patients. (Unless specified each function is applicable to both certified pharmacy technicians and pharmacy technician trainee).

B.. Key Working Relationships: Pharmacists, other technicians and pharmacy support staff, pharmacy central billing staff, nurses, other clinic and hospital staff
C. Primary Customer Groups: Patients, families and caregivers, clinic staff

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Greets and assists patients/customers in person and on the phone in a professional and confidential manner
B. Communicates effectively with colleagues and customers alike, being a good listener and adjusting style as needed
C. Represents MercyOne Pharmacies in a courteous, friendly, and caring manner
D. Performs duties with flexibility, adapting to changing schedules and needs of the customers, prioritizing work load accordingly
E. Operates cash register accurately, including cash, credit card, in store charges and payments on account
F. Assists with all aspects of inventory control: ordering, receiving, stocking, returning, and additional drug inventory control duties, including checking pharmacy stock shelves for outdated drugs and assisting with annual inventory counts of all products stocked in pharmacy including prescription, non-prescription, and supplies with a focus on stewardship
G. Assists with invoice reconciliation and coding for finance
