Ophthalmology experience is preferred.
Under the direct supervision of the Ophthalmic Technical Supervisor, and through collaborative teamwork, provides assistance in the diagnosis and care of ophthalmic patients.
Job Duties:
Initiates patient work-ups in the ophthalmology clinics in a timely manner. These work-ups may include any of the following:
− Visual acuities
− Pin-hole acuities
− Derive past medical and ocular history
− Confrontational visual field
− Amsler and Tangent fields
− Pupil evaluation
− Automated and manual lensometry
− Prism neutralization − Automated perimetry
− Extra-ocular muscle evaluation
− Extra ocular muscle neutralization using cover-uncover test and alternating cover test
− Maddox Rod test
− Worth 4
—Dot test
− Stereopsis testing
− Goldmann tonometry
− Schiotz tonometry
− Tono-Pen tonometry
− Color vision testing (Ishihara)
− Retinoscopy
− Refractometry (plus cylinder utilizing both the phoropter and trial frames)
− Use of distometer
− Estimation of anterior chamber depth
− Schirmer’s tear test
− Contact lens evaluation
− Patient education
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Salary Range: Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
19.99 hours or less per week, no set schedule.
