Summary
As an Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will serve children from birth to three years old during their most formative years. You will support daily living skills, movement, sensory processing, play, and participation, not in a clinic, but in the places where life actually happens - the child’s homes. - Provide comprehensive case management services to assist children with delays or disabilities and their families in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, developmental, and other appropriate services at the frequency determined by program expectations.
- Participates in the development and implementation of each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) in collaboration with the family and education team, providing progress reports as required by each Regional Center or Local Education Agency.
- Works with families to develop a curriculum appropriate for the unique learning needs of their child with vision impairment and/or multiple disabilities within natural daily routines.

About Wayfinder Family Services

For over 70 years, Wayfinder has been responding to the critical needs in the communities we serve. Through our services, we reach more than 21,000 individuals each year, from those who have vision loss or profound special needs to children in foster care — and their families.

The mission of Wayfinder Family Services is to ensure that children, youth and adults facing challenges always have a place to turn. Founded in 1953 as the Foundation for the Junior Blind, our programs initially provided blind and visually impaired children with opportunities to lead fuller and more independent lives. Today, we are a statewide organization that improves the health, well-being and quality of life for children, youth, adults and families who are facing difficult life and health circumstances.

We are the only human services organization in California with specialized programs for vulnerable children, youth and families AND individuals of every age with vision loss, or intellectual/developmental disabilities. We work beyond traditional silos and tackle the complex, intersecting issues faced by children and families. As Wayfinder Family Services, we stand in the gap and change the future, embracing the spirit of our name: we forge ahead, we find a way, whatever it takes.
