The COTA provides direct patient treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and supports the delivery of high-quality rehab services.
Provide treatments as directed by the Occupational Therapist
Document daily treatment notes, progress notes, and recertification documentation per state and OT Board requirements
Follow the physician treatment plan and facility protocols
Assist with training Restorative Aides as needed
Communicate patient progress and concerns to the supervising OT and care team
Participate in in-service training and interdisciplinary meetings
Educate patients, families, and nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver strategies
Support discharge planning
Help maintain a clean and organized therapy space
Report equipment issues to ensure safe, proper functioning
Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, and staff
Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of California
Strong documentation and computer skills (Casamba, PointClickCare preferred)
Meets all continuing education requirements and maintains license in good standing
