What You’ll Do

  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene assistance.
  • Help clients with mobility, transfers, walking, and daily routines.
  • Prepare light meals and assist with feeding when needed.
  • Perform light household tasks such as laundry, dishes, dusting, sweeping, and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Observe changes in clients’ conditions and communicate updates to the care team.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that improve each client’s quality of life.

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 6 months of caregiving or healthcare experience is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Dependable, compassionate, and able to work independently in clients’ homes.

We are a reliable and compassionate Homemaker/Companion to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment for our clients. This role focuses on light housekeeping, meal preparation, and providing companionship to clients in their residences. The ideal candidate enjoys helping others, is dependable, and takes pride in creating a welcoming and supportive environment.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

  • Light housekeeping including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, dishes, laundry, changing bed linens, and bathroom cleaning
  • Meal preparation and snack preparation according to client and family instructions
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
  • Provide companionship through conversation, walks, hobbies, and social activities
  • Assist with errands such as grocery shopping when prearranged
  • Accurate written documentation of services provided during shifts
  • Ability to follow agency policies, procedures, and supervisor instructions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to report concerns to supervisors

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Successful completion of a written competency evaluation
  • Compassionate and patient attitude when working with clients
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle or reliable transportation

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in clients’ homes
  • Travel between client locations may be required
  • Flexible shifts available based on client needs (days, evenings, weekends)

QualificationsEDUCATION / SKILLS / ABILITIES / AVAILABILITY

  • High school graduate of G.E.D. certificate preferred.
  • Six months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State approved Nurse Aide or Personal Care Assistant course.
  • Interpersonal relations abilities.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Primarily works in client’s place of residence; travel may be required.
  • Shift times and days vary with client needs.
