The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Teacher delivers classroom, skills-based, and clinical instruction that prepares students for state certification and healthcare careers. Responsibilities include assessing student performance, maintaining required records, coordinating clinical experiences and certification testing, and ensuring compliance with Headmaster requirements. The teacher also collaborates with district staff and healthcare partners while providing a safe, supportive learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver the school-provided CNA curriculum, including basic nursing skills; patient care, treatment, and mobility; medical terminology; and safety practices.
- Create a positive, supportive learning environment that promotes student success while maintaining a safe, orderly classroom consistent with health and safety regulations and professional standards.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, practical skills demonstrations, and clinical observations at a local healthcare facility.
- Maintain accurate records of student grades and attendance and provide daily lesson plans through the district's online platform.
- Coordinate and facilitate clinical skills practice at a local healthcare facility, ensuring students follow all facility policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other Career Center CNA instructor(s) and supervisory/support school district staff to ensure program quality, consistency, and effectiveness.
- Guide students in exploring career options, understanding workplace expectations, and preparing for certification examinations.
- Coordinate student schedules to ensure timely completion of required knowledge and skills certification testing.
- Complete all required certification documentation and maintain compliance with Montana Headmaster requirements.
Minimum Qualifications for Montana Dept. of Public Health and Human Safety - Assurance Division - CNA instructor requirements, including:
- Current RN or LPN licensure in the State of Montana
- Must have completed a course in teaching, or have experience in teaching, or experience supervising CNAs
- Must have two years of nursing experience; at least one year must be in the provision of long-term care services
- Must complete "Nurse Aide Training Program Application for Program Coordinator and/or Instructor", and submit to office of Headmaster for processing
