Job Description

Valley Forge Medical Center & Hospital is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly motivated Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to join our clinical team in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Position Summary

The CRNP will provide comprehensive medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients in a hospital-based addiction treatment setting.

This position involves serving as a Nurse Practitioner within an addiction treatment program, providing direct patient care while collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, counselors, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.

The CRNP will play an important role in promoting patient safety, wellness, recovery, and long-term health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive medical assessments, physical examinations, and health evaluations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Provide ongoing medical management and follow-up care.
  • Evaluate patients for substance use disorders, withdrawal symptoms, and co-occurring medical conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor treatment effectiveness and potential adverse effects.
  • Participate in medication management related to addiction treatment when clinically appropriate.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, behavioral health professionals, counselors, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, health conditions, disease prevention, and recovery.
  • Promote health, wellness, and relapse-prevention strategies.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation.
  • Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and clinical emergencies.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and case discussions.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, facility, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care to individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Pennsylvania CRNP/NP license.
  • Current DEA registration is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.
  • Experience working with patients with substance use disorders, addiction, behavioral health, or medically complex populations strongly preferred.
  • Master's degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner preparation required.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment-planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound clinical judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment while managing multiple priorities.
