Provides and documents assistance to patients with activities of daily living and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.

What You'll Do

As a night shift Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you'll play a vital role in providing compassionate, patient-centered care while helping ensure patients remain safe and comfortable throughout the night. You'll care for an assigned group of patients, supporting the nursing team by obtaining vital signs, collecting routine blood work, assisting with activities of daily living, and monitoring for changes in patient condition.

A large part of the shift is focused on helping patients prepare for a restful night by assisting with toileting, hygiene, repositioning, and other comfort needs. Throughout the night, you'll respond to call lights, provide ongoing support, and collaborate with the care team to meet each patient's individual needs. You'll also perform scheduled vital signs for patients requiring closer monitoring, such as those recovering from a stroke, while helping create a safe, calm, and healing environment for every patient.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High school diploma, required. Completion of NAI program, required.
  • Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred. One year required, Assisted Living facilities only: experience working in long-term care or assisted living
  • Licensure/Certification: Completion of NAI program, Required. Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, Required. Medication Safety - AME, Required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, Required.
  • Additional skills preferred: Basic computer skills for documentation.
