Position Title: CNA Certified Nurse's Aide
Hourly: $13.50-$16.00
Supplemental pay types:
- Differential pay
- Overtime pay
Schedule: 11 hour shifts - 7p-7a
Bi-weekly rotation
Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat.
Week 2: Sun, Wed, Thurs.

Who you are:
- Holds current Nursing Assistant Certification in Texas or posses written documentation from state examiner that requirements for such were met
- Successfully completes competency evaluation requirements under state guidelines
- Completed and been certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR-Healthcare Provider) preferred
- Has effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to promote a courteous, calm atmosphere
- Be able to assist the licensed staff nurse, as well as the charge nurse to fulfill management functions
- Be able to work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals and other departments within the system
- Have the ability to demonstrate age-appropriate knowledge of growth and development in order to assist in the collection of data by the licensed nurse
- Have the ability to provide prompt, courteous reception of all patients presenting to the nursing unit
- Show the ability to demonstrate initiative by actively seeking additional duties, as well as accepting and performing all other duties as assigned
- Possesses knowledge of and implements infection control and universal precaution practices
- Able to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests
- Able to lift up to and over 100 lbs., move, and transfer resident as needed
- Able to bend, stoop, crouch, walk, push, pull, and able to climb at least 8 flights of stairs.
- Able to perform physical demands of the position which are frequently extreme and require the highest level of concern for personal and resident safety
- May occasionally be subject to physically or mentally violent residents
- Able to withstand disagreeable odors
- Works saftely with possible blood borne, and air borne pathogens present
- All five senses must be intact or correctable to acceptable levels and be mentally alert
The Certified Nurse Aide will perform basic nursing duties to assist LVNs/RNs and other employees with tasks to support department operations and to provide exceptional care to residents through gentle and respectful handling of residents and fostering a team oriented and positive work and living environment.
Essential Job Duties:
- Supports and nurtures resident’s physical and mental health
- Bathes residents as scheduled and provides other necessary personal care
- Records medication and personal care given on the Daily Care Record
- Reports relevant changes to Charge Nurse
- Utilizes and submits charge sheets on a daily basis
- Performs any other duty in which the appropriate training level has been achieved
- Makes resident round with off-going shift as well as hourly, ensuring residents are clean, comfortable, and ascertaining overall condition
- Lifts, turns, and transfers residents when needed, utilizing proper safety equipment
- Passes out fresh ice water to each resident
- Assists residents in feeding and making sure food is appropriately portioned for the resident
- Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service
- Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in dining area
- Attends server training sessions on proper procedures for serving meals
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
- Implements new skills learned in training to enhance job performance
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
