Salary Range: $22.50 - $35.53 Hourly

Certified Medical Assistant I or II - ***Up to $3,000.00 Signing Bonus Depending on Experience**

The hiring range for Certified Medical Assistant I is $22.50 - $32.41. The hiring range for Certified Medical Assistant II is $24.50 - $35.53. The full range for this position is $22.50 - $35.53 per hour. Compensation is dependent on skills and experience.

Position Summary:

Responsible for back-office functions including patient preparation, support of health care providers, laboratory procedures and clinic operations in a manner that promotes quality patient care. Act as liaison between the front office and provider to ensure timely and orderly patient flow.

Your contribution to the team includes:

Certified Medical Assistant I

  • Room and prepare patients for exams, accurately document patient information into the electronic health record and prepare reports needed for patient care.
  • Provide assistance with patient exams, minor surgeries and medical procedures.
  • Responsible for adherence to clinical processes and procedures based on Medical Practice Standing Order policies established by HealthPoint.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, laboratory area and lavatory with supplies.
  • Perform in-house lab testing, including but not limited to, venipuncture, hemoglobin, rapid strep, urine chemstrips, blood glucose and pregnancy tests.

Certified Medical Assistant II

  • Responsible for lab coverage when necessary and all duties associated with lab coverage (proper labeling and recording of specimens, running controls, completion of control sheets and lab equipment maintenance).
  • Provide in-clinic Epic training and shadowing of new Medical Assistant staff, including Certified Medical Assistant I, Certified Lab Medical Assistants and Medical Assistant Extern students.
  • Assigned to be the Epic Super User for the medical back office.
  • Room and prepare patients for exams including chief complaint and vital signs and request reports needed for patient care.
  • Review and update as necessary patient demographic, medical history, social history, pharmacy, allergy, medications, and immunization information.

This is not an exhaustive list of duties performed by a Certified Medical Assistant I or II.

Must have’s you’ll need to be successful:

Certified Medical Assistant I

  • Must possess an Active Washington State Medical Assistant Certification or Interim Certification.
  • Maintain current certification/licensure as a Certified Medical Assistant in Washington State.
  • Ability and willingness to work evening hours and Saturdays.

Certified Medical Assistant II

  • Certificate from accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Minimum 6 months Certified Medical Assistant experience and demonstrated leadership.
  • Epic EHR experience.
  • At time of hire, must possess an Active Washington State Medical Assistant Certification or Interim Certification. Maintain current certification/licensure as a Certified Medical Assistant in Washington State.
  • Ability and willingness to work evening hours and Saturdays.

Immunization Requirements

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to starting at HealthPoint. HealthPoint does not accept the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine as proof of vaccination. Individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine must provide documentation of an alternate COVID-19 vaccine or vaccine series.

As a condition of employment, all new hires must provide proof of required immunizations and/or immunity for:

  • COVID-19
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Annual Influenza
  • TB QuantiFERON Gold titer draw

Employees working in a HealthPoint clinic must also provide proof of:

  • Tdap vaccination (within the last 10 years)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination (for clinical positions with potential exposure to blood or bloodborne pathogens)

Documentation must be provided before your start date. If you are unable to provide documentation, HealthPoint can provide required vaccinations or immunity titers at no cost.
