Manages clinic throughput and flow of patient-room utilization
Assists with patient intake, measures vital signs, and reviews medication lists; takes medical and surgical histories
Prepares and disinfects exam rooms prior to each patient visit
Ensures adequate supplies and appropriate instruments are available in clinics
Schedules diagnostic tests or imaging
May participate in specimen collection and processing
May remove casts and splints
May perform venipuncture
Accountable for meeting the standards of patient/personal safety and in maintaining a clean and therapeutic environment
Assists clinic staff with administrative needs
Maintains patient information and documentation in electronic medical record
Abides by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights
Supports hospital and departmental performance improvement goals
Supports quality care through compliance with departmental and organizational policies and guidelines, and external agency guidelines, standards, or regulations
Supports departmental initiatives and change efforts
Practices financial and resource stewardship
Engages in strong communication, acts as team player in supporting mission and vision of organization, and abides by organization’s core values
Additional duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certified or registered Medical Assistant required
BLS certification required
Applicable work experience preferred
