What We Offer

Novant Health Brain & Spine Surgery is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support our clinics!

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

You’ll work alongside a collaborative clinical team while building meaningful relationships with patients and supporting them throughout their care journey.

This role is ideal for candidates with previous experience working with neurology patients or in a medical office setting, though motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply!

What You'll Do

  • Provide clinical and administrative support for multiple clinic locations, including Randolph Road, Concord, and Mint Hill
  • Room patients for appointments, including obtaining vitals and preparing exam rooms
  • Return patient phone calls and address questions or concerns
  • Manage and respond to MyChart in-basket messages
  • Process and track referrals through the referral workqueue
  • Manage incoming and outgoing faxes
  • Provide clerical support on Friday afternoons by answering phones and scheduling patient appointments

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
  • Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
