The Cypress Club of Hilton Head is recruiting for the position of Maintenance Technician. This role is responsible for the overall upkeep of residential apartments and public areas through responsive, accurate and efficient maintenance. This will be accomplished through the performance of simple tasks that require the application of general maintenance and repair techniques, materials, tools and equipment.

Shift Hours:

M-F 11 AM - 7 PM.

Status:

FULL-TIME

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician:

  1. Performs routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and public areas.
  2. including correcting electrical malfunctions, repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures,
  3. pipes and fittings, repairing and replacing light bulbs and fixtures, repairing doors and
  4. locks, etc.
  5. Assists in providing initial response for malfunction of residential HVAC equipment.
  6. Performs resets and simple repairs as necessary.
  7. Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure.
  8. Completes all work orders in a timely manner while providing detailed information regarding the task(s) performed along with all prescribed/pertinent equipment.
  9. Assist other Maintenance personnel, when necessary, in the completion of various projects or repairs.
  10. Assists in maintaining proper levels of materials and supplies for the campus to ensure the timely and efficient completion of necessary tasks.
  11. Will be expected to work a reasonable amount of scheduled and "on-call" overtime as necessary.
  12. Performs additional duties requested by the Plant Director or Plant Director Assistant to ensure effective and efficient operation within the community.
  13. Attendance is essential to this job. Must also maintain dependability and punctuality as outlined in Attendance policy.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Report any unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately.
  2. Participate in all drills and in-service education as assigned.
  3. Respond to facility emergencies as needed.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Must possess a working knowledge of residential building maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances.
  • Knowledge of HVAC.
  • Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
  • Freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, and members.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to work well independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of different types of available paints, sealers and primers and their uses.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate painting equipment such as power washers, scrapers, etc.
  • Ability to use wire brushes, sanders, and rollers in an efficient manner.
  • In depth knowledge of different types of paints and tools for interior and exterior projects.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 1-2 years of maintenance experience in a residential apartment complex, commercial building construction or maintenance.
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver License combined with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must posses a certification or license related to any aspect of maintenace such as: HVCA, Plumbing, Electrician.
