Certified Logistics Technician Instructor



General Summary: The purpose of the Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) program is to recognize through certification individuals who demonstrate mastery of the core competencies of material handling at the front-line (entry-level through front-line supervisor) through successful completion of the certification assessments. Instructor must have experience working in the Logistics industry as a Technician and/or Supervisor of Logistics Personnel. This position prepares and provides all instruction according to the required curriculum established by the program outline and/or association granting industry certification or licensure.

  • The global supply chain.
  • The logistics environment.
  • Safe logistics equipment operation.
  • Material handling equipment.
  • Product receiving.
  • Product storage.
  • Order processing.
  • Packaging and shipment.
  • Inventory control.
  • Evaluation of transportation modes.
  • Dispatch and tracking operations.
  • Quality control in logistics processes.



Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the students understand and learn the defined curriculum for the course subject matter.
  • Directs the students in all learning activities either by demonstration or one on one instruction as set by the course syllabus and course outcomes.
  • Takes daily attendance and keeps accurate attendance records.
  • Maintains a safe classroom at all times.
  • Prepares the students evaluation forms and discusses with each student his / her progress in the classroom. Returns student evaluation sheets to students for their portfolio.
  • Maintains professional and certifications required.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of field of instruction; subject matter of curriculum.
  • Skill in making presentations to groups of students.
  • Skills in using all available resources to further educate students.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and some weekend assignments.

Education and

Experience:

Requires certification through Manufacturing Skill Standards Council or willingness to obtain certification to teach on an ongoing part-time basis; work experience in a logistics setting and/or a minimum of an associate degree in related technical field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a classroom environment.
  • Must be able to communicate with students and co-workers.
  • Must be able to read and complete reports and evaluations.

Since then, Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA has grown to over 700 individuals on payroll and 14 value retail stores.
