Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)

Pacific Coast Post Acute
Full-Time | $26.00–$27.00 per Hour

Pacific Coast Post Acute is seeking a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our Dietary Services team and ensure residents receive safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals. The CDM is responsible for supervising dietary staff, overseeing food service operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting resident-centered nutritional care in a skilled nursing setting.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Staff Development

  • Supervise, schedule, train, coach, and evaluate dietary department employees.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development efforts.
  • Assign daily duties and ensure efficient department workflow.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on quality resident care.

Food Service & Resident Nutrition

  • Oversee food preparation and meal service to ensure quality, safety, and resident satisfaction.
  • Process diet orders, diet changes, food preferences, and allergy information accurately.
  • Collaborate with the Dietitian and nursing team to meet residents' nutritional needs.
  • Coordinate special meals, holiday events, and therapeutic diet services.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including sanitation and infection control standards.
  • Monitor food temperatures, kitchen safety practices, and department cleanliness.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information and uphold HIPAA standards.

Operations & Budget Management

  • Manage inventory, purchasing, food supplies, and departmental budgets.
  • Assist with cost control initiatives while maintaining high-quality food service.
  • Ensure kitchen and storage areas remain organized, safe, and sanitary.
  • Support facility goals through effective department leadership and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an approved Dietary Manager program meeting state and federal regulations.
  • Previous supervisory experience in healthcare, long-term care, or food service preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
