Sovah Martinsville is seeking a full-time Certified Central Sterile Technician to collect, decontaminate, store and distribute all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.

  • Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.

  • Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.

  • Continually accounts for the number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.

  • Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.

Required Skills:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Education:

  • High school equivalent or preferred.

Required Certifications/Licenses:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

  • Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire.
