The Pirates are currently seeking a Minor League Certified Athletic Trainer who will be assigned to our Spring Training Facility in Bradenton, FL. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Rehab Coordinator and Minor League Athletic Trainer Coordinator, while working alongside the Florida-based Medical Staff in the management of player healthcare, including but not limited to on-field coverage, prevention, maintenance, evaluation, and treatment programs. Responsibilities will be dedicated towards Spring Training, Extended Spring Training, the Florida Complex Rookie Team, and Minor League Players on Rehab Assignment. The availability of shorter-term (more seasonal) assignments may be an option for this position.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide on-field coverage, prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques for various injuries.
  2. Daily communication with respective medical, performance, and coaching staff.
  3. Documentation and recordkeeping using the electronic medical records system (EMR)
  4. Assisting with and ensuring adherence to daily maintenance and treatment programs for all players.
  5. Perform various administrative duties as assigned.
  6. Adhering to and monitoring of Health & Safety Protocols per MLB and the Club.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
  2. NATABOC certified and in good standing.
  3. Eligible to meet state Licensure requirements.
  4. CPR/AED certification.
  5. Strong communication and computer skills.

Desired:

  1. Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
  2. Experience working with players from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  3. Prior experience in professional baseball.
