Description
The Certification Clerk is responsible for determining income and program eligibility of applicants and certifies eligible applicants for payment of energy bills.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify fuel assistance applications for completeness, income eligibility and documentation of both income and need for fuel.
- Certify complete applications for payment of energy bills in accordance with federal, state and ABCD regulations/guidelines and policies.
- Identify incomplete applications and inform applicants, in writing, of need for specific information and/or documentation to complete the application.
- Conduct telephone inquiries, as needed, for further information from applicants.
- Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and up to 12 months relevant experience.
- Previous experience as a Client Services Representative or Payment Clerk in a community-based agency preferred.
- Ability to be organized and detail-oriented, handling a high volume of paperwork.
- Ability to understand and interpret federal and state regulations/guidelines.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Ability to deal sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
Expected Salary: $37,619.40 annually ($21.29/hour) USD. Salary scales are set according to an explicit compensation policy and relevant market data. Due to funding restrictions and our strong focus on internal parity, this salary is thoughtfully aligned with the duties expected for this role, and offers are firm.
