Job Description

Lockridge Early Learning Centre is a welcoming service located in the heart of the Lockridge community. With a strong focus on nature and play-based learning, the centre offers a warm, family-friendly environment where children can explore, grow, and thrive. We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Director to lead our 60-place service.

You will be the Nominated Supervisor for the service and your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all children.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service
  • While our Compliance Team maintains oversight of legislative changes and sets policies & procedures, you will ensure the effective implementation and integration into everyday practice
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of educators
  • Oversee engaging and inclusive programs that reflect children’s interests and needs
  • Building strong, positive relationships with families and the local community
  • Take ownership of enrolment growth and service visibility
  • Manage the enrolment process and debt management
  • Managing rosters, budgets, resources, and service sustainability
  • Driving continuous improvement through reflection, assessment, and quality initiatives.

What You Need

  • Minimum level of Diploma Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved)
  • Experience in a leadership role within early childhood sector
  • Strong understanding of EYLF, NQS, and sector regulations
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Budget and staff management experience
  • Willingness to try new ideas and lead change

Role Conditions

  • Australian Residency or unrestricted work visa
  • Current Working with Children Card (or willingness to obtain)

As part of our commitment to child safety, all successful candidates are required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance issued within the last three (3) months. This must be submitted prior to commencing employment.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
