Job Description

Busy Bees Tairawhiti is looking for a Centre Administrator to support our kaiako, whānau and Centre Manager in a challenging role that requires accuracy and clear communication.

This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) and will be across two Gisborne sites, Tairawhiti and Gladstone Road.

The Opportunity | Te Āheinga

Busy Bees Tairawhiti is a unique an innovative space, designed for children to explore and learn through their senses. The mauri (life force) of our childcare centre supports rich language, giving children time and space to be curious, to inquire and to make discoveries.

As the Centre Administrator, you'll be supported by the Busy Bees Aotearoa wider national network and have the backing of established systems and processes. This role is fun and varied, it includes:

  • Greeting parents, visitors and tamariki and support positive daily interactions

  • Managing enrolment and attendance information in Discover and other systems

  • Supporting invoicing, receipting and basic debtor follow up

  • Answering phone calls, emails and day to day enquiries

  • Preparing reports and support compliance and licensing requirements

  • Coordinating information between the centre and Support Office

  • Assisting the Centre Manager with general admin and organisational tasks

  • Helping with events, parent evenings and community connections

About You | Mōu

You are a professional who thrives in a busy environment. Your background and skills will include:

  • Administration experience in a similar environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to connect with whānau from diverse backgrounds

  • Experience using various technology tools and you will be comfortable learning new software

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all record keeping

  • Knowledge of ECE legislation, funding, and WINZ subsidies is highly preferred
