JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

Evaluates, authorizes and funds disbursements for all loans except certain residential or commercial construction loans handled through TCL Construction group. Is responsible for funding through ACH, wire transfer, direct deposit to customer accounts or attorney escrow accounts, or by official check to third-parties. Reviews loan documentation for consumer and commercial purpose loans, in a multi-state environment for compliance with applicable state regulations, federal regulations and bank loan policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews loans of various complexity and assures that documentation is in compliance with bank policy, federal and state regulations.
  • Reviews application/approval for completeness, accuracy and proper approval.
  • Ensures that no critical exceptions are present in documents prior to funding.
  • Ensures all required documentation is prepared/obtained to properly perfect the bank’s lien.
  • Receives, analyzes, approves and prepares disbursements after verification of appropriate documentation.
  • Coordinates with outside attorneys as necessary to provide appropriate funding.
  • Communicates to lender any issues affecting loan closing; identifies any legal, documentation or policy deficiencies and assists in correction of issues impacting closing prior to disbursing funds.
  • Authorizes release of loan proceeds upon appropriate review of documents, including responsibility for large dollar commercial monetary transactions to the individual’s specific limits.
  • Disburses funds to customer/attorney’s account via ACH, paper deposit for on-us items, or wire transfer as appropriate, and confirms accurate disbursement.
  • Prepares loan packages for booking to ALS.
  • Coordinates with Central Reconciliations to reconcile loan fundings with general ledger balances.
  • Monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate Customer Identification (CIP) is obtained prior to funding.
  • Mentors and provides training assistance to Documentation Analysts.
  • Ensures high levels of service, security and productivity are maintained at all times.
  • Coordinates with Information Security, Audit, Compliance and the ACH/Wire Manager to establish, and ensure the use of appropriate risk controls.
  • Utilizes internet based network for creating wire and ACH transactions to fund deposits.
  • Utilizes intranet-based DAC Tracking tool to track productivity and workflow; reviews daily reports to self-manage work in progress.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training
  • A combination of education and experience is acceptable
  • No certification, licensure or registrations are required to successfully apply for this job; however, the following certifications from Hancock Whitney’s Computer Based Training (CBT) are required, if applicable, once in this position:
  • Certification in Banking Regulations (Reg. B, Reg. CC, Reg. O, Reg. Z)
  • Certification in HMDA Compliance
  • Certification in CRA, RESPA, RMR Regulations
  • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences and multiple levels of management
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to work well across teams
  • Is a self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Has the ability to multi task and prioritize workload in a fast paced environment
  • Possesses strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Ability to formulate sound conclusions and recommend optimal course of action based on analysis
  • Loan documentation knowledge of consumer, commercial, and real estate loans
  • Knowledge of loan policy and procedure
  • Knowledge of federal regulatory laws and those in the applicable states
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to make decisions independently.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate a keyboard if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
