Position: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, non-exempt (hourly)

Compensation: The full wage scale is $21.00 - $29.37 per hour. Placement within the wage range is determined by a candidate’s relevant experience.

- Full-time employees generally begin earning 18 days of PTO, increasing 33 days over time per our PTO policy.  You can rollover unlimited PTO hours into the next year.
- PSL accrues at 1 hour per 40 hours worked
- EIB accrues up to 32 hours per year (pro-rated based on hours worked) for both part-time and full-time employees, with a maximum of 480 hours

Summary: The Centralized Billing Specialist primary responsibilities include processing charges, communicating with FCN Providers and answering patient billing questions while adhering to company policies and standards. The Centralized Billing Specialist fulfills a key role in assuring the accurate processing of charges and acting as a resource for providers and FCN patients.
Essential Job Functions:
- Actively works the Charge Review Work Queue.
- Enters manual billing.
- Verifies eligibility for the OB spreadsheet.
- Provides quality service to FCN patients, managing patient billing questions with a high level of professionalism and timeliness.
- Communicates directly with Providers regarding patient specific questions.
- Communicates billing issues to PAD Supervisor.
- Collaborates with the PAD Coding Team regarding education for Providers.
- Participates in the external chart audit.
- Seeks assistance as needed and communicates questions in a timely manner and to appropriate staff (supervisor, colleagues, providers, etc.).
- Accurately enters demographic and insurance information into the practice management system.
- Adheres to assigned work schedule and meets attendance and punctuality standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical office practice.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCs.
- Maintains competency in the EMR and Practice Management (PM) systems.
- Establish good employee relations including effective conflict resolution.
- Possesses exceptional customer service skills.
- Prioritizes and multitasks detailed projects with frequent interruptions.
- Addresses problems, issues and concerns in a professional manner.
- Demonstrates excellent computer skills and proficiency working with MS Word, Excel, and databases.
- Comprehends and communicates information accurately and clearly (verbally and in writing, in person and via phone) with patients, all levels of personnel, and other individuals and groups.

QualificationsEducation and

Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
- Medical Office experience preferred.
- Billing/Coding experience preferred.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
Immunization Requirements: Employees are required to meet immunization standards in accordance with federal, state, and organizational health and safety guidelines, as applicable to the role. A simple process is in place for employees to request exemptions for medical or religious reasons.
