Job Description

The Central Utilities Plant (CUP) Manager oversees all utility systems that support semiconductor manufacturing operations, ensuring uninterrupted, safe, and efficient delivery of critical services such as ultrapure water, process gases, compressed air, HVAC, electrical distribution, and thermal energy systems. This role provides strategic leadership, drives reliability improvements, and ensures compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the central utilities plant, ensuring the safety of employees and the reliability of service.
• Manage and mentor technicians and engineers.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Oversee performance, capacity planning, and system resilience.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, capital planning, and vendor contracts.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support facility upgrades, process improvements, and energy efficiency.
• Maintain accurate documentation and operational records.
• Drive adoption of best practices and advanced controls.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
• 7+ years of utilities/facilities/plant operations experience; semiconductor experience preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership in 24/7 operations.
• Expertise in major utility systems (UPW, chillers, boilers, compressed air, etc...).
• Leadership & Soft Skills
• Excellent communication and team leadership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $110,700-$188,100 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
