Job Description

This is a Temporary Position - lasting approximately 3 months

Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

Responsible for distribution and storage of materials delivered to the Materials Management Department. Responsible for the PAR Level System throughout the Facility. Participates in the department’s quality improvement activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Delivers supplies and equipment to the user departments in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Receives and fills all supply requisitions, from departments, that are not replenished by the PAR System.
  • Interfaces directly with staff members of the user departments to determine the need for additions or deletions to the PAR Level Replenishment System for their department.
  • Collects patient supply charges for processing.
  • Maintains all areas of materials storage in a neat and organized manner. All supplies are taken out of the original shipping box for storage.
  • Restocks utilizing proper rotation, organization, identification, documentation and proper location of stock items.
  • Properly handles and stores sterile items to maintain sterility.
  • Maintains all equipment utilized in transporting supplies in a manner that ensures reliable and safe operation.
  • Notifies the Central Supply Manager when supplies or special orders are needed.
  • Requires minimal supervision in performance of job duties.
  • Understands how to prioritize responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.
  • Is a self-starter; initiates the meeting of responsibilities without prompting.
  • Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
  • Communicates clearly and appropriately to the Materials Management Director and co-workers.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Actively checks and responds to emails at least once per shift.
  • Completes all mandatory education within given timeframe.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Attends annual review and department in-services as scheduled.
  • Attends at least 75% of staff meetings; reviews all monthly staff meeting minutes.
  • Actively participates in the department’s quality improvement (QI) activities.
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices and the employee handbook.
  • Communicates the mission, vision and values of the organization as well as the focus of the department.
  • Meets dress code standards for the department; appearance is neat and clean.
  • All Ferry County Health employees are required to maintain confidentiality in accordance with organizational policy, state and federal regulations, including not but limited to, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent preferred.
  • Previous Hospital experience preferred.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ferry County Memorial Hospital (dba Ferry County Health) was established in Republic, Washington in 1945 and moved to its present facility in June of 1974. Until 1989, the Hospital was operated by the Ferry County Hospital Association, a private group composed of members of the community.
