• Be part of WA’s leading oral health education and care centre.
• Support patient safety through expert infection control practices.
• Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
• Base salary range: $69,666 – $77,167 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Oral Health Centre of WA is a collaborative centre and the primary focus for oral health education, research and specialist care delivery in Western Australia. The Centre treats approximately 15,000 patients a year and delivers a range of clinical and technical training programs.

About the opportunity

• Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilising reusable dental instruments and medical devices to minimise cross-infection risks and ensure patient safety.
• Operate, test and validate sterilisation equipment, maintain documentation, identify faults and repairs, and ensure compliance with protocols, standards and manufacturer requirements.
• Inspect, assemble and prepare instrument trays for clinical use, prioritise service requirements, and contribute to staff support, quality improvement and a safe workplace.

About you

• Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Sterilisation Services) or equivalent qualification.
• Completion of a minimum of one-year relevant experience in a sterilisation unit.
• Recent experience and knowledge in identification, disinfection and sterilisation of reusable medical devices in a health care setting.
• Effective application of infection control principles and knowledge and understanding of the AS/NZS 5369:2023 Reprocessing of reusable medical devices and other devices in health and non-health related facilities
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Note Employment checks will include information on gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and related misconduct to meet legal obligations. A current National Police Clearance will be required by the successful applicant.
