Job Description

Central Sterile Tech - PRN

Ensure the safety and quality of patient care by meticulously sterilizing and preparing medical instruments, equipment, and supplies for use in surgical procedures and patient care areas.

Job Duties:

  • Receive used medical instruments, trays and equipment from clinical areas (surgery, central distribution etc.) and perform initial inspection and sorting.
  • Disassemble instruments and equipment as necessary and manually clean them using appropriate techniques, detergents, and cleaning agents.
  • Prepare instruments and equipment for sterilization by assembling trays, sets, and packs according to established protocols.
  • Distribute sterile instruments and supplies to surgical suites, procedural areas, and patient care units as requested, ensuring timely delivery and appropriate documentation.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be enrolled in CCDP program

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in sterile processing or healthcare-related field
  • Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) preferred.
