The Central Service Technician (CST) supports patient care by ensuring clinical teams across UCLA Health have timely access to medical supplies and equipment. This role supports high‑volume procedural areas by managing inventory, distributing supplies, and maintaining organized, accurate supply locations.

The Central Service Technician must be a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment supporting high-volume procedural areas. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while responding to frequent supply requests and operational demands.
Strong English verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively interact with clinical staff, supervisors, and supply chain teams. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment is essential. Candidates must be disciplined, dependable, and able to meet operational deadlines with minimal supervision.
The technician must be comfortable entering and maintaining accurate data in inventory management systems and completing administrative tasks in a timely manner. Attention to detail is critical to ensure accuracy in inventory tracking, par management activities, and supply distribution.
Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads, assignments, and schedules—including weekend coverage—is required. Employees must comply with all UCLA Health policies, infection control practices, and safety requirements, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and stay current with required HR training and competency requirements.
The position also requires a commitment to quality improvement initiatives and adherence to Materials Management and UCLA Health policies to ensure efficient supply support for patient care operations.
As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
