What We Offer
Responsible for scheduling of all procedures, registration activities, gathering and processing of patient demographic and insurance information. Responsible for securing complete and authenticated signed orders for scheduled procedures. Provides concierge services to high volume practices.
What You'll Do
Compliance: Duties & tasks are varied, but standardized in capturing of high quality patient demographic & financial information via telephone or direct patient contact. In addition to level 1 responsibility, level 2 also obtains information for exams that may require authorizations from our high-volume referral offices & communicates with physician contacts. Complies with established departmental policies as it relates to attendance, punctuality, procedures & safety. Complies with organizational policies & procedures.
Collaboration: Provides a personal communication link to our high-volume referring offices in the market and fosters a long-term relationship with referral office contacts. Collaborates as a liaison with Novant Health staff and our referring physicians. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of insurance carriers requiring prior authorizations for imaging procedures. Coordinates imaging schedules in collaboration with follow-up/surgery appointments with the physician contact.
Communication: Coordinates with the high volume referring offices to set up protocols, communicating data required by the office, i.e., reports, updates & confirmation of appointments. Obtains STAT add on approvals from technologist or radiologist. Reviews accounts and works closely with the precert/insurance pod to communicate insurance benefits and the patient financial responsibility. Aids referring offices of the proper protocol for ordering radiology exams. Maintain open and effective communication with referral offices. Ensure timely and consistent communication with referral offices.
Continuing Education: Maintains ever changing scheduling knowledge and requirements for imaging procedures in CT, MRI, US, Mammograms, nuclear medicine, Flouroscopy, and diagnostic exams. Seeks out guidance from supervisor/manager when uncertain of procedure and solicits feedback to assess the quality & effectiveness of work. Consistently reviews core processes looking for improvement opportunities and facilitating those processes throughout the scheduling system. Demonstrates a personal commitment to continuous quality improvement through active participation. Aids our referral offices in the use of EPIC/DaVinci as their referral base all outpatient radiology exams.
Planning: Organizes and manages time effectively to optimize productivity. Uses best judgment to resolve patient problems or refer issues to department supervisor/manager. Answers phone calls from outside referral offices requesting imaging information. Possess the ability to accept change in a positive manner and implement change with positive results. Maintain composure in difficult situations.
