Title: Lead Teacher, Special Education- Speech

Assists in the delivery of speech therapy and evaluates Speech-Language Pathologist performance, ensuring adherence to educational standards and regulations. Provides expert input to develop action plans aimed at achieving desired outcomes in the field of special education and speech therapy. Serves as an internal and external subject matter expert, frequently advising others on complex matters.

Essential Job Duties
Completes new and innovative work that requires in-depth analysis to understand and solve problems that span a wide range of complex and unique issues.
Provides thought leadership and contributes to broad organization-wide projects.
Supports Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) by providing training and guidance on procedures related to their practice, ensuring effective service delivery and adherence to professional standards.
Assists SLPs with daily tasks and responsibilities, facilitating efficient operation within the therapeutic environment.
Receives and processes information from clients and other professionals to enhance communication channels and support seamless service provision.
Evaluates the services provided by SLPs for effectiveness, compliance with standards, and identifies areas for professional development or performance improvement.
Offers resources and support to SLPs aimed at continuous professional growth, aligning with best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
Ensures that all activities align with cultural values while promoting an inclusive environment conducive to client progress and staff development.
Provides input to develop action plans for the department to achieve outcomes.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field from a Professional Standards Commission approved college or university required
Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved director of special education endorsement required or Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in educational leadership at level SRL-5, SRNL-5, PL-6, or above required Experience in special education and speech therapy for diverse student populations is preferred.
