Responsibilities

Job Summary: This role provides focused operational support within one of three key service areas—Information Center, Cash Control, or Catering Delivery—depending on assignment. It delivers exceptional customer service while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to store standards. Whether assisting customers, maintaining financial controls, or executing high‑quality catering deliveries, the position contributes to a smooth, customer‑centered store experience.Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Information Center:

• Provides superlative customer service through engaging the customer and suggestive selling techniques
• Meets sales quotas as established by partner and department manager
• Provides information regarding activities conducted at the store, and location of departments, offices, and employees within organization
• Collects payments for limited customer purchases, makes correct change, and maintains an accurate till
• Processes returns, voids, charges, bottle deposits, and purchases

Cash Controller:

• Keeps records of store financial transactions; ensures office/store funds balance
• Performs all necessary terminal and bank readings
• Prepares/reconciles tills
• Visits the sales floor to help with pulls and audits
• Research/resolves store accounting variances

Catering Driver:

• Load and unload catering orders
• Delivery, set up, service, and clean-up of Central Market products while extending superior customer service
• Assist Catering department in catering sales/production when necessary
• Adheres to traffic and safety laws, as well as H-E-B policy. Including training and safety certification.
• Ensure vehicle is maintained, interior is clean and all compartments are food safe
• Knowledge of office delivery dock entrance and elevators

Intermediate operations individual contributor position providing service or support through manual operational tasks in a hands-on environment supporting daily business activities.

Works under moderate supervision on mostly routine tasks but may deviate from or interpret standard procedures based on knowledge gained through learned experience.

Work Experience:

• 2+ years of experience generally expected

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to think on your feet to satisfy the customer
• Basic food knowledge and banquet services

Cash Controller & Information Center:

• Demonstrated excellent customer service as a cashier required. Must have the ability to use the cash register system effectively
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Excellent customer service skills
• Detail-oriented

Catering Driver Only:

• Good driving record and valid Class C Texas Driver’s License
• No moving violations in previous 3 years
• No Felony convictions ever
• No DWI convictions
• No misdemeanor drug and alcohol convictions
• No preventable accidents for the previous 3 years
• Driver recertification every 3 years
• Participate in Annual MVR Check and Review

Education:

• High school education

Licenses/Certifications:

Cash Controller & Information Center:

• Completion of Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission-approved Seller Training Program and current commission certification

Catering Driver Only:

• Completion of Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission-approved Seller Training Program and current commission certification

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment
• Lift and carry moderately heavy loads
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Pushing and pulling up to 250 pounds
• Bend, reach, squat
