The Warehouse Administrator is responsible for the support of the day-to-day receiving, PO and invoice alignment at Farm Boy’s Central Operations Facility. Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager, this role will be responsible for the execution of the daily receiving entries, inventory control, order entry, packaging and material counts. The position is geared toward a supportive role in maintaining and achieving administrative duties, some reports and encompasses a strong understanding of day-to-day plant functions and needs. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ordering various production supplies, track inventories, manage costs to ensure the budget for production supplies is maintained.
  • Set inventory levels for materials, ingredients, packaging supplies and monitor quality and freshness of incoming products.
  • Various forms of data entry and system input as required.
  • Process manual purchase orders.
  • Update list of suppliers for regular stock items.
  • Manage vendor and services such as waste disposal, garment delivery, supply orders, packaging orders, and direct vendor orders.
  • Manage pallet and tote counts.
  • Notification of PO discrepancies or invoice issues.
  • Review chemical needs and orders.
  • Ensure weekly food and supplies inventory counts.
  • Responsible to perform a variety of administrative duties.
  • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Farm Boy approved Food Safety Course plus Level A First Aid and Basic CPR certification, or the commitment to complete within 6 months.
  • Experience with planning and producing food in a high volume and fast paced environment.
  • Hands-on team player with the demonstrated ability to lead staff in meeting production goals.
  • Good working knowledge of sanitation and food safety principles and risks.
  • Must be a positive team member with strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good computer skills and working knowledge of automated systems and tools including Microsoft Suite.
  • Good organizational, time management and communication skills.
  • High standards of cleanliness and order.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Work & Sensory Environment:

  • Required to wear cumbersome protective clothing or equipment during shift.
  • Lack of control over pace due to multiple and/or tight deadlines beyond one’s control.
  • Ability to work in a cool environment for prolonged periods (4 to 6 degrees Celsius).
  • May be required to lift, carry and/or handle heavy objects.
  • Performing repetitive motions in a cold environment and standing for extended periods of time.
