Job Description

Job objective

The Center Manager (CM) acts as the general manager for a GEPD plasma Donation Center (DC), responsible for managing and optimizing the whole operations related to the DC including financial, marketing, administrative, regulatory, quality, personnel, systems, supplies, equipment and other infrastructurefacility-related controls.

CM has the overall accountability for the daily operations, staff-related activities, quality control, compliance with all applicable policies & regulations, optimize operational efficiency and establishes a work environment that foster operational excellence.

Environment

Internal: Quality, Operations, Medical staff, Marketing, Procurement, Finance, Facility management team, Warehouse staff and HR.

External: Donors, Health authorities, Government agencies, Patient associations, Third party providers, Medical associations, Corporates, Community-based organizations and others.

Key responsibility

People Management & Development

- Establish a work environment that foster operational excellence.

- Ensure all employees are properly, timely, and efficiently trained on the relevant technical areas.

- Provide regular feedback and coaching for centers employees.

- Develop & retain talents, through regular meetings, goal check-ins, development plans, etc.

- Administer regular check-ins and year-end performance review & development plans, etc.

- Assist in management of the recruiting process.

- Support and conduct teams trainings.

- Leading the periodic medicaloperational meetings.

- Serve as subject matter expert for operational-related policies and procedures, Plasma Donation System and Plasma Payment System.

Operations management

- Supervise the operations within the center.

- Monitor donor recruitment and retention, ensure efficient donor flow, and implement donor

- retention improvement and corrective action plans.

- Attaining donation goals with the highest level of quality and compliance.

- Monitor net yields and implement improvement plans.

- Perform analysis of related data to promote efficient operations.

- Proactive operational processes enhancement and risk management.

- Oversees product and biohazard waste shipments: Ensures shipments meet regulatory specifications and product release requirements from the donor center; ensures accurate labeling and documentation; and authorizes final shipment.

- Resolve related facility issues and manage inquiries for facility information.
- Manage all aspects of financial oversight; setting annual budget and ensure center meets monthly financial targets.

- Provide leadership to ensure donor retention with high customer service levels.

- Create organizational culture and value systems which stimulate the morale and productivity.

- Operate the center and manage employees to the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

- Provide strategic planning for donor center growth.

- With the marketing team, provide strategic inputs for marketing plans, follow up on execution, provide analytics and insights for optimization.

- Provide publicinstitutional presentations for awareness and donor recruitment activities

- Establish partnership with relevant governmental and private entities for brand equity and donors' recruitment.

Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure that the center is operating with high compliance level to company's policies, procedures and regulations.

- Deviation management and CAPA development with timely implementation.

- Manage centers audit processes and help to resolve any related issues.

- Ensure timely response and closure to audit observations.

- Fulfills all responsibilities as defined by Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) for Responsible Person of a plasma collection center.

- Recommend changes and improvements to SOPs.

- Work closely with the center quality team to enhance the operational compliance and ensure that the proper risk mitigation plans are in place.

Back up for Center Physician:
Part of the qualification for being a certified CM, is the onboarding and certification on center physician role, serving as backup at any time to fulfilling the business needs:

- Donor acceptance and deferral according to the relevant policies and procedures.

- Observe and coach the donor center technicians and phlebotomists.

- Donor counseling to individuals with unacceptable results.

- Management of Donor Adverse Event Reactions and the appropriate level of care.

- Timely review of accumulated data to confirm established donor suitability, donor safety, and process enhancement plans.

- Recommend changes and updates to the center procedures.

- Provide education sessions to the center medical staff as needed.

- Learn, understand and be independent working with the PDS (Plasma Donor system) as it relates to the duties and responsibilities of this position.

- Provide aggregated medical data and insights to the medical director that in turns help in improving the center performance.

Academic experience required.
Essential:

- Bachelor's degree in medicine.

- Formal Qualification in the medical field.

- Diploma/master's degree in a core branch of Medicine, Egyptian Fellowship, or MBA in a Medical Related field.

- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience

- Supervisory and people management experience for at least for at least 3 years.

- Blood bank related experience.

- Experience in a GxP regulated environment and Quality standards. Desired:

- Experience in cGMP.

Grifols Egypt for plasma derivatives is a joint-venture (JV) company between the Egyptian Government, through the National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) and Grifols, the global leader in plasma medicines with more than 110 years of contribution to improving the health and well-being of people.

This joint venture is the first of its kind in the plasma industry and the first-ever Egyptian source member of the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA). GEPD is a groundbreaking global public-private alliance that will benefit the entire region.

GEPD is committed to developing the plasma medicines market and achieving self-sufficiency in these critical therapies, which is crucial for the Egyptian healthcare system.

We are combining the expertise of both shareholders to build and operate 20 plasma donation centers throughout Egypt, along with manufacturing facilities including fractionation, purification, and fill-and-finish plants with a processing capacity of up to 1 million liters of plasma annually that can double in the future.

The new manufacturing facility will include a plasma warehouse and a testing laboratory. It will occupy 105,000 square meters strategically located in the administrative capital’s medical city, adjoining various healthcare institutions.
