Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Accountable for the provision of proficient patient care inclusive of complex patients. Assumes an expanded charge nurse role and assumes unit responsibility for orientation for new staff. May assume the role of care coordinator for a given group of patients, monitoring and evaluating patient care based on the unit standards of care. Actively involved in unit/service activities, contributing to outcomes from those groups.

The Center for Perioperative Medicine is seeking a motivated clinician to support preoperative patient optimization and care coordination. This role partners with surgeons, anesthesia, APPs, specialty teams, and external facilities to help ensure patients are safely prepared for surgery. Responsibilities include coordinating testing and follow-up, communicating with interdisciplinary teams, educating patients, addressing barriers to surgical readiness and cross coverage of the anticoagulation management program. Candidates must have strong clinical judgment, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills, along with a collaborative, patient-centered approach.
