Job Description

The Financial Information Analyst is responsible for analyzing the operative and financial information of all CEMEX business units and consolidating it into accurate, timely and decision-ready reporting. The position prepares the monthly, quarterly and annual results packages used by the Controller, the CFO and the CEO, ensuring consistency between operative drivers (volumes, prices, costs) and reported financial results. It also acts as an information hub for the organization, delivering analysis and data to Planning, Finance, Treasury, Investor Relations and other corporate areas. The role exists to guarantee that management and external stakeholders receive a single, reliable and well-explained version of the company’s performance.

Main Responsibilities

• Analyze the operative and financial information of all business units, identifying variances versus prior year, budget and forecast, and explaining the underlying business drivers.
• Prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages for the Controller, CFO and CEO, among other audiences, including results analysis, KPIs and executive presentations.
• Consolidate and validate information submitted by the business units, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance with corporate accounting and reporting guidelines (IFRS).
• Deliver recurring and ad-hoc information and analysis to Planning, Finance, Treasury, Investor Relations, Tax and other corporate areas, ensuring a single source of truth.
• Support the closing calendar: coordinate deadlines with business units, review closing results and follow up on open items until resolution.
• Maintain and improve reporting tools, models and templates, proposing automation and standardization to shorten closing and reporting cycles to deliver more relevant, insightful and decision-oriented information to management
• Prepare supporting analysis for quarterly earnings materials and management reviews, and respond to questions raised by senior management.

Position Challenges

• Meeting tight closing and reporting deadlines (monthly, quarterly and annual) without compromising accuracy, since the output is used by the Controller, CFO, CEO and external stakeholders.
• Handling large volumes of information from multiple countries, currencies and business lines, and turning it into clear insights and compelling business narrative.
• Influencing and coordinating with business unit controllers and other corporate areas without direct authority over them.
• Balancing multiple simultaneous information requests with different formats, levels of detail and priorities.
• Exercising judgment to identify inconsistencies or unusual results and escalating them on time.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality of non-public financial information.

Qualifications

Languages

• English: advanced (written and spoken) – mandatory. Spanish: advanced – mandatory.

Academic background

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting (preferred); Finance, Economics or Business Administration with a strong accounting foundation will also be considered.
• Master’s degree in Finance or MBA, and/or CPA certification, are a plus.

Areas of expertise and experience

• Financial reporting, consolidation and results analysis: 3–5 years.
• IFRS application and interpretation: 2–3 years.
• Operative/business performance analysis (volumes, prices, costs, KPIs): 2–3 years.
• Experience in a multinational or multi-business-unit environment, or in a Big Four audit firm, is highly valued.

Technical skills

• Advanced Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data models) and advanced PowerPoint for executive presentations.
• Experience with consolidation and reporting systems (e.g., SAP, HFM or similar); knowledge of CEMEX internal reporting tools such as LUCA is a plus.
• Data visualization and analytics tools (Power BI or similar) desirable.
• Experience with AI tools applied to business (e.g., Copilot, Cowork, Claude, others)

• Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills for senior management.
• Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

• External auditors, for information requests related to closings and annual reporting.
