Cell Biology Pre-Sales Specialist 100 % (f/m/d)

As Cell Biology Pre-Sales Specialist, you will be part of the European Detection Sales Enablement team and support the growth of Tecan’s Cellomics and cell biology portfolio across Europe.

In this role, you will combine scientific expertise with commercial awareness to support customers and sales teams in cell-based workflows, particularly fluorescence imaging, multimode detection,and broader cell biology applications. You will provide technical and application expertise during customer discussions, demonstrations, tenders and opportunity development, helping translate customer needs into suitable Tecan workflow solutions.

You will also help identify new applications, customer segments and market opportunities, sharing insights with Sales Development, Marketing, Application Management and Product Management to strengthen Tecan’s Cellomics strategy across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Support regional Detection sales teams in achieving business targets through scientific, technical and consultative pre-sales engagement.
• Provide application and technical support for cell biology projects, particularly in fluorescence imaging, multimode detection and cell-based workflows.
• Support customer discussions, demonstrations, tenders and RFQs with relevant application and workflow expertise.
• Identify new applications, workflows and customer groups for innovative solutions in the field of cell biology
• Work closely with local sales teams to understand customer needs and translate them into suitable Tecan solutions.
• Collaborate with Sales Development, Marketing, Application Management and Product Management to support the execution of the Cellomics strategy.

Your Background

• University degree in cell biology, biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or a related life science discipline.
• PhD in cell biology, oncology or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in life sciences, ideally with hands-on experience in fluorescence imaging, cell-based assays, multimode readers or related technologies.
• Experience in oncology research, drug discovery, high-content imaging, 3D biology, organoids, spheroids or similar cell biology applications is an advantage.
• Previous experience in application support, field application, pre-sales or customer-facing scientific roles is a strong plus.
• Good understanding of customer needs in academic, biotech, pharma or applied life science environments.
• Ability to translate scientific and technical customer requirements into suitable workflow and product solutions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both scientific and commercial audiences.
• Commercial awareness and ability to identify new opportunities for growth.
• Open, collaborative and pragmatic personality with strong networking skills.
• Structured, solution-oriented and able to manage multiple projects across countries.
• Fluent English is required.
• German is strongly preferred for DACH-focused responsibilities; other European languages are an advantage.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools, Power BI or similar systems is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel across Europe as required.
