Job Description

The opportunity

The C&E Buyer procures and manages consumables and expendables across AJW’s global aviation supply chain, ensuring consistent availability, cost control, and supplier performance. This role sits at the operational core of aircraft support securing high-volume, time-critical parts that directly impact turnaround times and service delivery.

Working with OEMs, distributors, and global suppliers, the Consumables & Expendables Buyer plays a key role in maintaining supply continuity, reducing AOG risk, and driving cost-effective procurement strategies—supporting AJW’s mission to transform aviation efficiency through reliable, data-led supply chain performance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Procure consumable and expendable aircraft parts in line with demand and operational requirements

  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance on cost, quality, and delivery

  • Monitor stock levels and demand trends to support availability and minimise shortages

  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to achieve best value outcomes

  • Work closely with inventory, logistics, and operations teams to support service delivery

  • Identify risks in supply and implement mitigation actions

  • Maintain accurate system data and procurement records

  • Support continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier performance

Requirements

About you

  • Experience in aviation procurement, supply chain, or buying roles

  • Understanding of consumables and expendables within aviation

  • Strong commercial awareness (cost, negotiation, supplier management)

  • Analytical skills with ability to interpret data and demand trends

  • Experience using ERP or procurement systems (e.g. Quantum, AMOS)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working with global suppliers or distributors

  • Knowledge of aviation compliance and certification requirements

  • Exposure to inventory planning or forecasting

  • Continuous improvement or process optimisation experience
