Position Purpose:

Responsible as the CDS Assistant Vice President / Chief Information Security Officer for the diverse security environment that CDS’ customers rely upon CDS to protect. Our primary customers include the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Federal Employee Program, Avalon Health Services, State of South Carolina in support of our Medicaid sister division, and many state, local and commercial entities via DocFinity product and services. Our security and compliance frameworks include, but are not limited to, ARS, FISMA HIGH, NIST, HITECH, MARS-E, HITRUST, SAS 70/SSAE 18 SOC 2, and ISO 9001:2015, 27001:2022 and 2000-1:2018.
Assists the President in directing all system security activities across the various customers, security frameworks, CMS and its many contractors that access our environments, our employees and our subcontractors in adherence and compliance. Directs tactical and operational I/T provisioning of security infrastructure to support business goals.
Part of an executive team that works extensively to build business growth on revenue and profit through activities of solutioning and proposal efforts.

Location:

This position is full-time (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday and fully onsite in Columbia, South Carolina in a typical office environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Mentor and coach management team on staff management, employee development, addressing performance issues, resource planning, and strategic objectives. Promote professional growth. Provide guidance and leadership in staff and resource management, team building and training to ensure organizational effectiveness.
  • Responsible for managing the technical interface to the customer. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships that can be leveraged to support the achievement of business and technical objectives. Works with the business leadership team to influence strategic business decisions regarding the use of technology.
  • Assesses the relative impact of emerging technology to the customers' strategic business needs and interprets their meaning to customer leadership team. Participates in business technology planning, bringing current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems to business processes for a competitive advantage.
  • Gains familiarity with our current products and promotes current systems to meet the customer's business needs and corporate strategy. Represents customer account in all I/S efforts that will impact their customer.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers to ensure continuous customer satisfaction with accounts managed.
  • Reviews project management activities and ensures that work is authorized, funded, prioritized and that a quality product is delivered. Monitors execution of actual hours against planned hours. Monitors work progress and manages customer expectations throughout the project life-cycle.
  • Provides management guidance and over sight to subordinate staff. Manages the day-to-day operations of the area of responsibility.

To Qualify for This Position, You’ll Need the Following

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's in a job related field


Required Work Experience:

  • 12 years related IT experience.

  • 5 years management experience (may be concurrent).


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to productively lead a cross-functional team of managers and peers.

  • Strong knowledge of technical trends and how to apply new technology.

  • Understanding of I/S competencies and the value they bring to a customer's business processes.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to network and work within a complex matrix organization.

  • Ability to manage customer expectations throughout the product life-cycle.

  • Ability to learn the complex interdependencies between business systems.

  • Ability to navigate complexities to meet the needs of the customer.


Required Software and Other Tools:

  • Standard office equipment.

We Prefer That You Have the Following

  • Bachelor's degree-Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related field (Celerian Group Requires a bachelor's degree for all management Positions).
