Job Description

Position Purpose:

The CDL Transfer Driver at SRS Building Products ensures safe, timely transport of building materials between company locations, complying with all regulations and delivery schedules. This role supports operational efficiency and customer service excellence through skilled driving and effective coordination with logistics teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate commercial trucks and follow all safety protocols

  • Load/unload materials as needed

  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation

  • Conduct vehicle inspections and report issues

  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations

  • Meet delivery schedules and support logistics coordination

  • Provide excellent customer service during interactions

  • Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize routes

  • Resolve transport-related issues efficiently


Direct Manager Direct Reports:

Reports to the Branch Manager; no direct reports.

Travel Requirements:

Extensive travel required, covering local, regional, and cross-country routes.


Physical Requirements:

This role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, prolonged sitting, and frequent movement including standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Must operate manual and automatic vehicles in all weather conditions, with strong visual and auditory skills for safe driving. This field-based role involves frequent travel to transport building materials between locations. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL with a clean driving record

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial driving; building materials experience preferred

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and route planning

  • Proficient in transportation systems

  • Strong communication and attention to detail

  • Reliable and proactive problem-solver

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varied weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.


Preferred Education:

Post-secondary vocational training or certification in truck driving.


Minimum Years Of Work Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial driving.


Certifications:

Required: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $23.51 to $29.90 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs.
