The CDL Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of guests using a 16+ passenger van or commercial vehicle, while delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires prompt response to customer needs, professional communication, and a strong focus on safety and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. A valid CDL driver's license with (P) Passenger endorsement and successful completion of a background check are required for this role
The Shuttle Driver works collaboratively with team members, the Operations Manager, and Shift Supervisors to ensure service excellence and adherence to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet all guests in a friendly, professional manner upon arrival.
- Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage as needed.
- Provide clear directions and respond to guest inquiries courteously.
- Proactively identify and assist guests in need of transportation services.
- Safely transport passengers along designated routes with scheduled pick-up and drop-off locations.
- Ensure proper use of safety equipment (seat belts, emergency kits, fire extinguishers, etc.)
- Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS or dispatch instructions
- Adjust routes based on traffic, weather, or operational needs
- Communicate delays or changes to dispatch or management promptly
- Meet delivery or transport schedules while maintaining safety
- Ensure proper parking and security of vehicle when not in use
- Operate shuttle vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle at all times.
- Perform daily DOT vehicle inspections and report any safety concerns immediately.
- Report all accidents, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly to management.
- Ensure full compliance with DOT, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure all required permits, licenses, and certifications are valid and up to date
- Accurately track and record passenger counts and complete required daily/shift reports.
- Maintain professional communication with guests, clients, and team members at all times.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of guests.
- Strong situational awareness and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles requiring coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and frequently enter/exit the vehicle.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement required
- Prior commercial or shuttle driving experience preferred
- Clean driving record in accordance with company standards
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
- Must successfully pass a background check, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
- Must be authorized to work in the Canada and able to provide documentation verifying eligibility, as required by law
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent entering and exiting of vehicle
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors depending on location
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Fast-paced, customer-facing environment requiring attention to safety and service
