Job Description

The Shag Driver will drive shag truck; pull and back 48 and 53-foot trailers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Comply with Federal, State, County, City, OSHA and Company rules and regulations.
  • Safely operateshag truck both on and off the company property
  • Maintain required safety and ergonomic processes to insure a safe working environment and meet company goal of an injury free workplace.
  • Drive shag truck; pull and back trailersMust be able to spot the correct trailers in the correct docks.
  • Use of electronic equipment to perform tasks and communicate with Logistics Manager.
  • Physically wash out trailers as needed
  • Maintain a wash and shag report
  • Set reefer units at proper temperatures.
  • Must be able to follow directions
  • Assist traffic office as needed
  • Maintain truck cleanliness and track truck maintenance as needed.
  • Understand and perform inspections of equipment as required by USDOT rules and regulations.
  • Monitor truck parking lot
  • Communicate issues with vendor trailers that are not working correctly.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULEThe hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
