A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DEADSTOCK DRIVER

As a Deadstock Driver, you will be responsible for picking up dead hogs, cattle and meat scraps from farm sites on a daily route. As our customers range in size from farmers to feedlots to large-scale slaughterhouses. Driving a straight truck or a tractor-trailer, you will collect materials from multiple customers along your route each day.

You will manage your route with an onboard computer (OBC) and also keep an up-to-date paper log for compliance purposes. Taking responsibility for your truck, you keep it clean and complete a vehicle condition report on a daily basis. You will provide exceptional professional service to all customers while following all laws & regulations. You will love getting to hit the road for a living while still being at home every night.

Minimum Qualifications for a Deadstock Driver

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Good driving record
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL driver's license.
  • Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior route experience within a customer oriented environment preferred.
  • Experience with truck hydraulics a plus.
  • Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.
  • Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to handle outside elements, summer heat and winter cold.
  • Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally push, pull, up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or Overtime as need.
