The Service Oklahoma (SOK) mission is to ease the stress in navigating government services by providing a best-in-class customer experience. We are Oklahomans helping Oklahomans by providing driver license and motor vehicle services on behalf of the state.
This position has an annual rate of $50,000.00
The Service Oklahoma offers a generous benefits package, including a benefits allowance to off-set the costs of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. The Service Oklahoma will match up to 7% towards an employee’s Defined Contribution retirement plan. Our employees receive 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, which increases with every 5 years of service, and 15 days of paid sick leave. Additionally, employees will receive longevity payments based on their years of service with the State of Oklahoma.
The CDL Auditor is responsible for ensuring and overseeing the day-to-day activities and compliance of the CDL third party program related to the CDL skills tests as well as truck schools overseen by Service Oklahoma. The CDL Auditor is to ensure the highest safety standards, improve operational efficiencies, statistical analysis, and troubleshoot/give guidance regarding their area of operation. This role involves working closely with multiple divisions to maintain compliance with both state and federal regulations while providing the best-in-class service.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety and Compliance
- Inspect equipment for safety and compliance with State and Federal testing standards.
- Determines the physical and driving qualifications of customers for conformance to the established standards necessary for safe driving.
- Determines vehicle characteristics to ensure appropriate tests are administered. Checks for valid registration and insurance.
- Actively participates in all training events of new regulations and reviewing current regulations regularly.
Operational Management
- Input CDL skills test appointments in reporting/scheduling programs, as well as confirming all ELDT requirements have been met.
- Regular verification of CDL skills pad/drive route are within State and Federal regulations.
- Review documents for eligibility for CDL skills test.
- Verify prospective applicants have completed or are exempt from required ELDT requirements prior to administering a CDL Skills test(s).
Customer Service
- Communicates information related to driver license applications, testing procedures, test results, and complaint processes to customers.
- Connect with customers regarding location of test, test scheduling process, and eligibility in a professional and timely manner.
Quality Assurance
- Continually reviewing the CDL Examiner’s Manual, State and Federal testing/training materials.
- Mandatory refresher training to stay in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of tests conducted.
- Daily monitoring of State-issued equipment and maintenance of all applications necessary to preform daily functions.
- Reporting of tests administered, no shows, walk-ins, deviation from drive route, etc. in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- In-depth knowledge of both state and federal regulations pertaining to the CDL program and how to reference such regulations; provide proper feedback to applicants/ third-party examiners/ trainers/ truck schools.
- Proficient in technology and software relevant to conducting CDL skills examinations/reports/training/auditing.
- Effective problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills; strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers; participate in the development and evaluation of program objectives and procedures; make sound decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Ability to obtain AAMVA CCE Certification; obtain Passenger, School Bus, and Tanker endorsements.
- Administer skills examinations for all classes of license/CMVs; work with sensitive materials and maintain confidentiality and appropriate discretion.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The preferred minimum qualifications for this position are:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any field
- OR four (4) years of relevant experience
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preference may be given to candidates who have:
- A valid Class A CDL
- Prior CDL Experience and/or DL Examining Experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- The schedule for this position may vary and require flexibility, including some early or late shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime, based on the needs of the agency.
- This position may require occasional travel. The employee must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel. State vehicles may be available, but reliable transportation may be required for local travel. Possession and maintenance of a valid Oklahoma Driver License is required.
- This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
- This position may also work in a storefront setting with a mild noise level, depending on customer traffic in the store.
- This position requires employees to be able to stand up to eight hours a day in all weather conditions and lift 10-50 pounds on a regular basis, with assistance as needed.
