Within MDRF, the Strategy Office plays a central role in shaping priorities, identifying future growth opportunities, and supporting high-impact executive decisions across areas such as Embedded Processing, Physical AI, Connectivity, and Cloud Optical Interconnects.

As part of this mission, MDRF seeks to strengthen its ability to identify emerging opportunities, accelerate innovation, and build strategic connections across the broader technology ecosystem.

Reporting to the VP Strategy Office, the Innovation & Ecosystem Director acts as a trusted partner to senior leadership, bringing structure, entrepreneurial thinking, and execution discipline to strategic growth initiatives across MDRF.

This role serves as a bridge between MDRF, STMicroelectronics’ broader capabilities, and the external innovation ecosystem. It combines technology foresight, ecosystem development, strategic thinking, and business acumen to transform emerging technologies and ideas into future growth opportunities.

The position requires a highly collaborative leader who is equally comfortable engaging with technology experts, business executives, startups, research institutions, investors, and strategic partners.

MISSION

Bring external innovation into MDRF, connect capabilities across STMicroelectronics and the broader ecosystem, and translate emerging technologies, market trends, and new business ideas into tangible growth opportunities.

The Innovation & Ecosystem Director will help MDRF anticipate future disruptions, identify new growth vectors, and accelerate the development of strategic initiatives through partnerships, ecosystem engagement, and pre-incubation activities.

  • Support the maturation of validated opportunities toward Zone-to-Win incubation, strategic partnerships, investments, acquisitions, or business ownership.
Ecosystem Development & Partnerships
  • Build and maintain a strong network across startups, venture capital firms, technology partners, research institutes, universities, and innovation hubs.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for co-innovation, strategic alliances, and ecosystem positioning.
  • Represent MDRF and STMicroelectronics in relevant innovation and ecosystem forums.
  • Foster collaboration between external partners and internal stakeholders to accelerate innovation and business impact.
Strategic Program Support
  • Contribute an innovation and ecosystem perspective to strategic programs and mission-based initiatives across MDRF.
  • Provide technology intelligence, startup insights, competitive benchmarks, ecosystem analysis, and market perspectives.
  • Support executive decision-making by bringing external viewpoints and identifying emerging opportunities and risks.

  • Act as a catalyst for collaboration between business units, technology organizations, and corporate functions.
  • Help build a culture of innovation, experimentation, and external engagement within MDRF.
IDEAL PROFILE Experience
  • Proven experience in innovation management, technology strategy, venture building, corporate development, startups, venture capital, or ecosystem leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of technology-driven markets, semiconductor ecosystems, and emerging digital and AI trends.
  • Experience working across corporate, startup, research, or investment environments is highly valued.
Leadership & Competencies
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset: curious, proactive, opportunity-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
  • Ability to identify opportunities where others see uncertainty and translate ideas into action.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with a hands-on execution mindset.
  • Excellent networking, influencing, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to build credibility with senior executives, technical experts, entrepreneurs, and external partners.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to move seamlessly between deep technology discussions, business strategy, and practical execution.
IMPACT

The Innovation & Ecosystem Director will play a critical role in shaping MDRF's future growth by bringing the outside world into the organization, connecting capabilities across STMicroelectronics and its ecosystem, and converting emerging technologies and ideas into strategic business opportunities.
