Job Description

This role supports the Global Process Owner (GPO) for Master Data Governance & Data Migration in establishing, operationalizing, and sustaining the enterprise Master Data Governance framework.

The Master Data Governance & Data Migration Expert will:

  • Support the definition and implementation of global Master Data Governance policies, standards, and frameworks
  • Drive governance adoption across process workstreams (S2P, R2R, O2C, etc.)
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across master data domains
  • Act as a coordinator across business, IT, and process workstreams
  • Enable data-driven decision-making through effective governance and reporting

Main tasks:

  • Master Data Governance Framework (GPO Support)
  • Support the GPO in establishing and evolving the global Master Data Governance framework
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of:
    • Policies, standards, and procedures across Customer, Vendor, Material, and Finance master data
  • Support alignment of governance design with SAP S/4HANA data models and architecture
  • Prepare and coordinate Data Governance Councils and working groups
  • Act as a key contributor and facilitator for enterprise-wide master data topics
  • Cross-Process Governance Enablement
  • Work closely with E2E Process Workstreams (STP, RTR, OTC, HTR, etc.) to embed Master Data Governance requirements into process design, define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models
  • Identifying critical master data objects, establishing governance checkpoints and controls, ensure consistent governance standards across all process areas and act as a bridge between MDG and process transformation teams (e.g., Esphora)
  • Data Quality, Controls & Compliance
  • Support definition and monitoring of data quality KPIs (accuracy, completeness, consistency)
  • Coordinate with business validators and process teams to ensure:
    • Proper validation and sign-off of master data
  • Support root cause analysis of data quality issues across domains and processes
  • Ensure adherence to governance standards, audit, and regulatory requirements
  • Data Governance Execution & Adoption
  • Support enforcement of
    • Naming conventions and data standards
    • Data ownership and stewardship frameworks
    • Approval workflows and segregation of duties
  • Drive adoption of MDG processes across regions and functions
  • Data Migration & Transformation Support
  • Support data migration activities in close collaboration with SI partners and business teams
  • Contribute to business rule definition and validation frameworks
  • Ensure alignment between migration activities and governance standards
  • Support reconciliation and validation across data migration cycles
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication
  • Act as a key liaison between:
    • MDG GPO
    • Business : MasterData Process Experts & Stewards
    • IST teams/ System Integrators
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication of governance standards and expectations
  • Provide regular reporting on data quality and governance performance
  • Continuous Improvement & Governance Maturity
  • Identify opportunities to improve, governance processes,Data quality monitoring, workflow efficiency
  • Support automation of validation and controls, data cleansing and enrichment initiatives
  • Contribute to the maturity roadmap of Master Data Governance
