Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable CCTV Monitoring Specialist to support the safety, operational excellence, and profitability of a leading convenience store chain across Coastal Georgia and South Carolina. This role remotely monitors store activity via CCTV to ensure compliance with standards related to customer service, cleanliness, food preparation, inventory control, and cash control. Serving as the eyes of our operations, this position identifies trends, flags concerns, helps prevent theft, and provides actionable insights that support consistent, high-quality customer experiences across all locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CCTV Monitoring & Store Operations

  • Monitor live and recorded CCTV footage across multiple store locations to evaluate adherence to company standards, including:
  • Customer Service: Customer interactions, engagement, and service standards.
  • Cleanliness & Maintenance: Store interiors, exteriors, restrooms, and high-traffic areas.
  • Food Preparation: Hygiene, food safety, and compliance with operational protocols.
  • Inventory & Merchandising: In-stock levels, planogram compliance, displays, and promotional items.
  • Cash Control: Adherence to established cash control processes and procedures.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Compile and submit reports highlighting areas of excellence and concern, supported by time-stamped observations and video references.
  • Maintain accurate incident logs, reports, and evidence files to support investigations and audits.
  • Review BARS transactions and report findings to appropriate personnel.

Investigations & Escalation

  • Review and archive footage to support investigations involving internal or external theft, accidents, and claims.
  • Escalate urgent safety, theft, or compliance concerns to the appropriate internal departments in real time.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all privacy, data security, and surveillance compliance protocols.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Loss Prevention, store managers, district leaders, and Operations to provide actionable feedback that supports training, accountability, and operational improvement.
  • Collaborate with Operations and the security alarm system monitoring company to maintain accurate alarm system contact lists.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify subtle changes in behavior, appearance, or the store environment and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review footage, identify patterns, and determine potential root causes.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional reports.
  • Ability to remain focused and attentive during extended monitoring periods.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Operations, HR, Loss Prevention, and leadership teams.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities.

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in surveillance, loss prevention, retail operations, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with CCTV platforms, video playback tools, and basic office software, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Must be able to work on-site at our headquarters in Savannah, GA, as required.

Preferred:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field
  • Knowledge of retail theft trends, fraud detection, and workplace safety best practices

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk while working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
