Credit to Cash, Credit & Collections Analyst

Location: Mexico City, Mexico

Are you a finance professional with a talent for risk assessment, negotiation, and protecting corporate cash flow? As a Cash, Credit & Collections Analyst, you will manage the end-to-end monitoring, evaluation, and optimization of customer credit risk, proactive collections management, and accurate cash application. Reporting directly to the Credit-to-Cash (C2C) Team Lead, you will act as a critical business partner between commercial sales, finance, and logistics teams to minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), mitigate bad debt risk, and secure vital working capital. By pairing financial statement evaluation with strong negotiation skills, you will enforce credit policies, safeguard internal controls, and actively support digital accounting automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Credit Evaluation & Risk Mitigation: Analyze customer financial statements, credit agency reports, and payment trends to establish corporate credit limits, while actively managing orders-on-hold and credit block release workflows.

  • Proactive Collections Strategy: Own the collections execution for an assigned accounts receivable portfolio, driving regular client follow-ups via phone, email, and billing portals to aggressively reduce past-due balances.

  • Cash Application & Exception Management: Oversee the daily processing and accurate validation of incoming electronic payments (ACH, wires, checks), coordinating with customer accounts payable teams to secure missing remittance advice.

  • Workflow Seperation & Deductions Hand-off: Identify customer short-payments and cleanly segregate promotional, pricing, or shortage deductions to hand off to the Deductions Analyst team with clear traceability.

  • Month-End Analysis & Compliance: Participate in month-end closing activities by compiling aging commentaries, updating cash forecasting data, and maintaining robust reconciliation documentation to satisfy internal and external audit controls.

  • Continuous Improvement Readiness: Partner with cross-functional execution teams to streamline collections communication templates, map transactional workflows, and support the integration of automated AI cash-matching tools or RPA bots.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 1+ years of professional experience operating within Accounts Receivable (AR), Credit/Collections, or general administrative finance processing functions (open to fresh graduates with relevant corporate internship experience).

  • Technical Skillset: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data formatting) coupled with a solid foundational familiarity navigating major ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle).

  • Core Capabilities: Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and financial problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate firmly yet professionally with external clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPG Exposure: Background working within a fast-paced corporate environment, specifically supporting a global Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or fast-moving consumer goods business model.

  • Digital Systems Familiarity: Prior experience utilizing customer portals, digital credit-scoring modules, or working directly with automated accounts receivable software.

  • Process Standardization Focus: An adaptive, continuous-learning mindset with a strong motivation to contribute to cross-functional data transparency and workflow standardization.
