To professionally manage all aspects of CONTRACTOR fuel & water bowser operations on site. Ensure safe, efficient, and timely refueling of nominated Plant Equipment and Generators associated with the Project. To ensure compliance with the relevant Project Policy, Procedures and Practices applicable to the remit. Site driver support function (when applicable)
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Fuel Bowser:
Be fully conversant with Project Fuel Bowser dispensing operations
To ensure that all CONTRACTOR and Subcontractor equipment comply with the project operations and criteria are adhered to as per the policy
To ensure all fuel logs data sheets are correctly populated and maintained throughout the process
Ensure correct dispensing of fuel based on equipment specifications.
Perform daily fuel level checks and update fuel usage logs accurately.
Maintain strict control over fuel issuance to prevent wastage, spills, or theft.
Conduct daily vehicle and associated equipment inspections ensuring the integrity of, but not limited to; Tires, brakes, hose integrity, nozzle condition, pump function.
Report mechanical issues immediately for maintenance.
Ensure the bowser is clean, equipment organized and operational at all times.
Ensure grounding procedures are followed to prevent static discharge.
Operator must be conversant with the management of fluid spills, using the appointed spill kits accordingly in line with the project environmental procedures.
Submit fuel received and dispensed log sheets to the Driver Supervisor or Logistics Coordinator on a daily basis.
Water Bowser:
Coordinate with MDR Construction Superintendent to suppress high dust areas within nominated MDR locations.
Conduct daily vehicle and associated equipment inspections ensuring the integrity of, but not limited to; Pump, pressure system, tank integrity, spray bars, tires.
Keep the bowser clean and in good mechanical condition.
Report faults or breakdowns immediately to the Driver Supervisor.
Follow MDR and site HSE requirements for safe driving and water bowser operation.
Participate in morning toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Maintain records of daily water usage and work areas covered.
Report water shortages or operational constraints to the Driver Supervisor.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Valid driving license for heavy trucks (Class C and C1).
Certificate or training in Fuel and Water operations
Minimum 2 years’ experience in operating Fuel and Water bowsers.
Demonstrate a working knowledge in fire safety, spill response, and HSE procedures.
Good communication and record‑keeping skills.
Previous Project experience preferred but not essential
Good command of the English language reading, writing and speaking
Individuals must be self-motivated
Must understand the importance of timely completion of tasks to meet deadlines
Must demonstrate a high attention to operational detail
Must demonstrate reliability and personal integrity
Must demonstrate a strong safety awareness ethos
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to demonstrate a professional approach when interacting with other Project personnel
