This is a hybrid opportunity that will report to our Asset Integrity office in Houston, TX. This position will require travel as needed to support various clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution

  • Manage end-to-end cathodic protection (CP) projects, including impressed current systems, galvanic systems, pipeline surveys, storage tank protection, and facility retrofits.
  • Develop detailed project plans, scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, materials, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and pre-construction assessments.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings, CP system designs, and specifications for compliance and constructability.
  • Oversee installation of CP systems, including rectifiers, anode beds, test stations, cabling, and monitoring equipment.
  • Interpret and analyze CP testing data (CIS, DCVG, ACVG, PSP, soil resistivity, current requirements).
  • Ensure proper commissioning, system troubleshooting, and technical documentation.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company and client safety procedures, ensuring all field work complies with OSHA, NACE/AMPP, API, DOT, or other applicable standards.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and accurate data reporting.
  • Manage project risks, corrective actions, and change orders.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, inspectors, and utility owners.
  • Provide technical guidance, project updates, and status reports.
  • Build strong client relationships to support repeat business and future growth.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Track project budgets, expenses, forecasts, and invoicing.
  • Prepare project documentation, test reports, as-built drawings, and closeout packages.
  • Support proposal development and assist with bid reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, corrosion engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Must hold a valid CP 3 or CP 4 AMPP/NACE certification.
  • 3–8+ years of experience in cathodic protection, corrosion control, pipeline integrity, or related disciplines.
  • Proven project management experience in industrial or utility environments.
  • Strong knowledge of CP principles, field testing, and corrosion mitigation systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with pipeline integrity programs (CFR 49 Parts 192/195).
  • STI (Steel Tank Institute) Certification
  • API (American Petroleum Institute) Certifications – API 510 (Vessels), 570 (Piping), and 653 (Tanks)
  • Familiarity with rectifier troubleshooting, AC mitigation, and soil corrosion issues.
  • PMP or formal project management training.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities.
  • Effective leadership and team coordination.
  • Clear communication in both technical and client-facing settings.
  • Ability to work in field environments, including remote sites and varying conditions.
  • Proficiency with project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.) and CP data tools.

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office work and field work.
  • Travel required depending on project locations.
