Position Purpose:
At Mercy Medical Center, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab provides care to patients undergoing elective and emergent invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures. This role ensures patient safety and comfort through comprehensive assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, pre-procedure preparation, and administration of conscious sedation..
What You Will Do:
Support the cardiologist during cardiac procedures by handling instruments, monitoring patient vitals, and administering medications.
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, obtaining consent, and providing post-procedure care instructions.
Continuously monitor patient conditions and maintain accurate records of procedures and patient care.
Required:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required
Valid RN license in Massachusetts
Ideal candidates will have one or more years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab nursing.
Preferred
Candidates with two or more years of experience in Emergency Room or ICU nursing may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU-level invasive monitoring (arterial lines, central lines), titrating vasoactive medications, and managing ventilators. Note Training is not available for candidates without this expertise.
BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
ACLS certification, support available for certification post-hire.
Full-Time: 40 hrs/week – Day Shift
Four 10-hour variant shifts with rotating weekends and holidays are required.
On-call required, based on department needs.
Hourly Union position, included in RN Step Program pay range:
$42.61 to $69.24.
